First Birthday Photo Session with Sophia

I had another photo session with Sophia the other day. I can't get over how cute she is. She turned one on January 18th. I remember doing her newborn photos when she was only a month old. It's fun watching them grow up. During her christmas session she was very calm and serious. She didn't really want to smile. Even when she shows her serious face she is still adorable! I got her to smile and show some personality during the last photo session. She is easily distracted by my son so I keep him out of the room during the photos, but I asked him to come in the room towards the end of her session to make Sophia smile and laugh. It was cute and it worked!
I was disappointed because she broke the cupcake in half before I got a good photo of her holding it with the number 1 candle on top. So in her photos u see the top half of the cupcake with the candle still on it. I will remember to always have a back up cupcake.

Longer Sessions for Babies and Children

I have decided to make babies and children photo sessions 1 1/2 hour instead of just an hour.
I already allowed extra time for feedings and comforting for baby sessions. I think it's necessary to make childrens sessions 30 min longer also because it takes longer to change outfits for babies/children and getting them ready for next shots then it would for seniors/couples/maternity etc.

Newborn Session With Lexi

About 2 weeks ago, I had a newborn session with Lexi, she was only 2 weeks old that day. I couldn't get over how cute she is. I'm going to be doing several photo sessions with her during her first year. Looking forward to watching her grow and capturing all those special memories for my friends Jason and Leah. Such a cute little family! Baby sessions are always alot of fun. Some photographers are intimidated by babies. Not me, I have plenty of patience and don't mind taking breaks for feedings or comforting the baby if they are fussy.

Photo Session with The Battle Bunch

Over the weekend, I had a photo session with James Battle and his sons. It was the perfect day for it, 60 degrees in January. Even though we have mild winters in VA, it's not usually this nice.
